Myke Towers built his name from Puerto Rico's urban music scene, turning the influence of rap and Latin trap into a sound that eventually reached audiences across the world. Born Michael Anthony Torres Monge in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico, he began releasing music independently and developed an early following through online platforms and mixtapes. His 2016 project, “El Final del Principio” became an important early step in his rise and established him as a promising voice in Puerto Rican urban music.
He grew through collaborations with artists such as Bad Bunny, Ozuna, Becky G, Farruko, Wisin, Sebastián Yatra, Rauw Alejandro, Jay Wheeler, and Quevedo. In 2020, Towers released his debut studio album, “Easy Money Baby,” which reached No. 1 on Billboard's Top Latin Albums chart and earned a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Urban Music Album.
He followed with projects including "Lyke Mike," "La Vida Es Una," and "LVEU: Vive La Tuya...No La Mía." Songs such as “La Curiosidad,” “Bandido,” “Pareja del Año,” and “LALA” expanded his international audience, with “LALA” becoming one of his biggest global successes.
Towers received the Billboard Latin Music Award for New Artist of the Year in 2021, adding an important industry honor to his growing commercial profile. He has also received multiple Latin Grammy nominations, including recognition for “La Falda” and “El Cielo.”
His later projects, including La “Pantera Negra,” and “Lyke Miike,” have continued to demonstrate his productivity and versatility. By moving between Latin trap, reggaeton, rap, and melodic urbano, Myke Towers has developed a distinctive place within Puerto Rico's influential urban music tradition while maintaining a strong connection to the international Latin music market.
